Day of Prayer in difficulty

To those who suffer from bullying

This post is also available in: Japanese Portuguese (Brazil)

One day, I discovered that my daughter has being bullied at school.  My daughter and I could only pray about it but there was a way to solve the problem in a mysterious way.

My daughter entered the middle School and she was looking forward to finding new friends.  One day our neighbor said, “Recently your daughter somehow seems unhappy.”  Then I noticed something was wrong with her because she usually is a bright and energetic.  Those days, my husband and I had been quarreling a lot because I could not understand him.  Our relationship was not good so I was angry toward my children.  I first thought my daughter was unhappy because I was irritated and I was angry with my husband and the children.

One of those days, when I was going to wash my daughter’s blouse I found a letter in the pocket.  She wrote that she would rather stay home and study than go to school.  It surprised me that my daughter wanted to stay home rather than going to school.

She was angry when she knew I read her letter.  I apologized about reading the letter without asking.  I asked her about her friend but she said she would rather not talk about it.

I did not know what to do and I again asked her many questions after I prayed to God.  She then opened her heart and talked.

She told me that one day suddenly without any reason, her friends started to ignore her and also all of her class mates and club members too and she became lonely.  I understood that my daughter was very lonely and in trouble.  I was hurt because I was an angry mother toward her and not listening to her as her mother should.

My daughter prayed for a long time without eating breakfast then went to school.  She prayed every day but nothing had changed. As I saw my daughter pray I too started to pray to the Lord.  I continued to pray with tears about what I could do for her now.  Then the answer came, I got to know something I did not notice before.  Then I told my daughter.  I told her the true feeling. “ Your father and I protect you and risk our lives for you.” After that she became energetic little by little.

God did something mysterious.

My daughter never missed her club.  One of her senior club members said and encouraged her. “You are doing well.” “ We are on your side.”  She also said that if there are club members who still want to do wrong I want you to quit the club.  Because of her talk, all the club members apologized for each other’s wrong doing and made peace.  That day my daughter came home with a smile on her face and she talked with joy.  I was so happy and gave thanks to the Lord.

Since then she prays all kinds of things to God. Even today a morning prayer is more important than breakfast. When she is praying I cannot come in to her room but when she comes out of her room she is always smiling and peaceful.

I learn a lot from her.  The other day she said Mom, before you tell someone about your problem, you better pray to God first then say it.  It is not to a god that was made by men but the true God who lives.  She truly believes God lives even now.

Her conviction is from her experience; because her prayer was answered.  Now she is a good friend with the one who ignored her and she lives a happy life.  She also happily goes to school.  I truly give thanks to the Lord.

Going through our daughter’s problem, we, as a couple, understood how wonderful it is to pray to God.  I Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.”

I experienced that this verse is the truth.

As a family each one of us started to have prayer time as the most important thing to do.  Through it we were changed to talk with joy and also we can talk over everything.  We are thankful for God causes all things to work together for good.  I pray for my daughter every day to the Lord.
