We have received wonderful news from a pastor in Taiwan regarding the “Taiwan Lantern Festival,” which will be held in Miaoli County from February 20 to March 7, 2027.
“We praise the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ from the bottom of our hearts. We extend our deep respect, love, and gratitude in the Lord to everyone at Tokyo Antioch Church, who prays and serves so fervently for the sake of missions in East Asia and throughout the world.
In the spring of 2027, Taiwan’s largest national celebration, the ‘Taiwan Lantern Festival,’ will take place in Miaoli County in western Taiwan. At this historic moment—when millions, and potentially over ten million people, gather from across the nation seeking light and blessings for the coming year—we are uniting firmly with churches across Taiwan to establish a 200-tsubo (approx. 660 m²) ‘Christian Special Zone’ within the vast festival grounds.
We have launched a project within this zone to boldly and powerfully proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the true Light and the Lord of Life. We are convinced that the Lord will use this Lantern Festival as a platform to further deepen the unity of the Spirit between the churches of our two nations. We sincerely invite your church to participate in the following ways: We are offering performance slots—for worship, testimonies, and other presentations—on the stage within this special 200-tsubo venue.
The pure worship and expressions of love for the Lord offered by Japanese believers will transcend language barriers, deeply move the hearts of the Taiwanese people, and serve as a powerful testimony that conveys the Lord’s presence.
This is a unique opportunity for the churches of Japan and Taiwan to unite and share the Gospel with many people. We look forward to seeing how the Lord will mightily use this ministry.” ”
