Healing from Cerebral Palsy Reported at Tokyo Antioch Church

On Saturday, May 10, a healing gathering was held at Tokyo Antioch Church. During the event, Pastor Joseph Sanbonmatsu shared the testimony of his son Joshua’s miraculous healing.

Joshua was born two months premature but initially showed no medical issues. However, as time passed, he was unable to roll over or crawl. Though doctors initially advised to “wait and see,” his condition worsened a month before his first birthday—his eyes became vacant and unresponsive. An MRI scan at a major hospital revealed necrosis in the area of the brain that controls movement, leading to a diagnosis of cerebral palsy.

Doctors told the family, “Necrotic brain tissue cannot regenerate. Other parts of the brain may compensate, so he will need daily rehabilitation.” Adding to the difficulty, Pastor Sanbonmatsu’s wife was also dealing with a neurological hip condition. The family faced a tough battle, training Joshua to move like a robot—step by step, without seeing progress for months.

Despite the situation, the family and church members continued to pray fervently for healing. Then one day, Joshua suddenly sat up and began to crawl with astonishing speed, which everyone referred to as “high-speed crawling.” A year later, a follow-up MRI showed the previously necrotic brain tissue had become completely normal.

When the doctor reviewed the results, he simply said, “Hmm… it’s healed.” Pastor Sanbonmatsu asked, “But necrotic brain tissue doesn’t come back to life, right?” The doctor replied, “I wonder what that was, then.”

Now 15 years old, Joshua is completely healed and actively serves as the drummer of the Gospel Seed music group, alongside his parents.

The first half of the healing gathering featured a mini live concert by the music group Gifts. Group member Mr. Fujii shared his personal experience of healing.

Thirty-two years ago, at the age of 19, he fell into deep despair after failing his university entrance exams. He described the pain as “a spear stuck in his chest,” making it impossible to control his emotions. He lost his appetite and spent about a year attending numerous healing services. Even when he began to feel slightly better, he continued to suffer from persistent nausea.

After joining TLEA, a pastor prayed for him. During the prayer, the pastor declared, “It hurts! It feels like a thousand spears are piercing me. How have you even endured this? You’re harboring hatred toward someone.” This word, believed to be from God, deeply moved Mr. Fujii—it was the first time he felt someone truly understood his suffering.

Through this revelation, he realized that his condition had stemmed from anger toward a former pastor and his decision to stop attending that church. He repented for this, acknowledging it before God.

Later, Mr. Fujii traveled to South Korea for a fasting prayer retreat. After some time, he experienced full healing and deliverance.

Pastor Israel Shibahashi of Nishinomiya Church will be hospitalized. Please pray for her.

Pastor Israel Shibahashi of Nishinomiya Church will be hospitalized from the 12th.

Her kidneys have stopped functioning, so please pray to return to the original, healthy state as soon as possible.

Also, please pray that only diagnoses based on God’s will are made with regard to medicines, injections, equipment, etc. (The nurses and doctors are also chosen by the Lord.)

Please pray that she will be able to make the right decisions during her hospitalization.

Yuuki Hoshina was invited to a day service center to perform a concert

On Wednesday, April 30th, gospel enka singer Yuuki Hoshina was invited to a day service center in Kita Ward, Tokyo, to perform a gospel concert. On the day of the concert, Yuuki lost his house key and was unable to return the next day, so he quickly bought a costume and performed. The concert consisted of seven songs, mainly gospel enka, including an encore. It was a very enjoyable concert that lasted about an hour, with some talk, such as how he was healed from panic disorder. Some of the staff members who had seen the concert yesterday said they were glad to hear God is Love live and that they were excited. The users also gave their impressions, saying that they were very happy and that they are rooting for the concert to be shown on TV. One person said that the daughter is a Christian and that the person would talk to her about today’s event. Yuuki promised to come in kimono next time.
