PRESENCE Invited to Perform at a Facility for People with Disabilities

On Thursday, December 11, the congregational praise team PRESENCE from Tokyo Antioch Church was invited to hold a concert at a facility for people with disabilities, located next to a day service center in Kita Ward that the team visits monthly.

The concert lasted just under 40 minutes and was held in a spacious hall. Approximately 80 people, including facility users and staff members, attended.

Along with PRESENCE, JOY, Yuki Hoshina, Immanuel, and Gifts also performed. Staff members commented that the program structure was excellent, noting that attendees remained calmly seated until the end, while some individuals—who usually do not dance—began dancing spontaneously, much to the staff’s surprise.

Some participants asked if they could record the concert to watch later, while staff members took many photos, asking for permission to post them on blogs and social media.

Many raised their hands and quietly sang along to the gospel songs, some were moved to tears, and by the finale, many stood up and danced. A representative from the facility remarked, “We would love for you to come every month. Please come again!” All glory be to the Lord.

Gospel Seed Performs at Church in Chiba Prefecture

On Sunday, December 14, Gospel Seed was invited to a church in Chiba Prefecture, where the group led praise during the worship service.

The invitation came from an individual the group had previously met through a street performance, who asked them to visit the church and offer praise. As a result, Gospel Seed presented a special musical offering during the service.

The pastor of the host church was found to share a mutual acquaintance with the group, a connection that members described as a meaningful and unexpected guidance.

Following the service, several church members expressed their appreciation and purchased CDs of Gospel Seed’s music.

Healing from Hay Fever Shared at Healing Ministry

On December 13, a healing ministry was held at Tokyo Antioch Church.

Motoko, a member of the gospel group True Vine, shared her testimony of being healed from severe hay fever.

She explained that she had suffered from serious hay fever for more than 30 years, from the age of 18. Her symptoms were triggered by cedar and cypress pollen in both spring and autumn, and at their worst, they even affected her eyesight. For nearly half of each year, she lived with these symptoms and relied on medication that had been helping her manage the condition.

However, several years ago, while attending the Hakuba Camp, she forgot to bring her medication. Surrounded by many cedar trees in Hakuba, she experienced severe discomfort, including dizziness and eye pain, and struggled through several difficult days.

During a spiritual gifts class at the camp, she received prayer for healing and was given a strong faith that she too would be healed.

Some time later, following a Sunday worship service message, a time of healing prayer was held. As usual, the congregation was invited to join their hearts in prayer, and she prayed in agreement.

Two or three days after that service, she noticed something unusual. Although it was March and she was not taking any medication, none of the typical hay fever symptoms appeared. Thinking it might be temporary, she waited and observed her condition for a week, knowing that symptoms can vary depending on the weather.

After a full week without medication and without any symptoms, she realized that the condition had not returned. Several years have passed since then, and she testified that she has been completely healed.
