Nobue Saito began to overeat due to stress following a move during her childhood, and by the time she reached high school, she was plagued by an abnormal appetite.
Later, at her mother’s suggestion, she began taking English lessons from a missionary. Through the Bible verse “You are the light of the world,” she came to realize that God loved her.
She prayed for healing from her overeating disorder; gradually, she was freed from that abnormal appetite, her weight returned to normal, and she was healed.

Healing from Overeating Disorder
On September 12, a healing gathering was held at Tokyo Antioch Church.
As a child, Nobue Saito moved to a new location due to her father’s job.
The move resulted in a longer commute to school, and the stress caused her to start overeating.
Although she had been on the track and field team through junior high, she began to gain weight rapidly upon entering high school.
During her sensitive teenage years, she was deeply hurt and distressed whenever people commented, “You’ve put on weight.”
She never sought medical treatment, but she suffered from an abnormal appetite and found herself thinking about food constantly, day and night.
As a result, their academic performance declined.
After graduating, they found employment but continued living the same kind of lifestyle as before.
It was then that their mother suggested they take English lessons from a missionary.
Although they had attended church with their mother as a child, they had completely drifted away from it.
When the missionary shared the message from the Bible that “You are the light of the world,” a light shone into their heart, and tears suddenly welled up.
They had known about God, but had only perceived Him as someone high up in the heavens, merely looking down vaguely at the people on earth.
Upon hearing those words, they realized for the first time that God loved someone like them so deeply.
Learning that God offers not only salvation but also physical healing, they prayed for complete deliverance from bulimia.
Gradually, their appetite was restored to a healthy state, their weight returned to normal, and they were set free from their pathological, abnormal eating habits.
Two churches of TLEA are started Fujisawa city in Kanagawa and Aizuwakamatsu city in Fukushima.
Brother Enoch Sugisawa at Tokyo Antioch church will be appointed on the pastor at Fujisawa church, and Sister Yuka Sugisawa will be appointed to the pastoral evangelist.
And Sister Yoshida will be appointed to the Pastor at Fukushima church.
Please pray for the future ministry of the newly starting Fujisawa Church and Aizuwakamatsu Church.
On Saturday, September 5, “Harvesters”—a joint worship team from TLEA East Philadelphia Church and Morioka Seisen Christian Church—performed at the “Miyagino Song Festival,” organized by the Sendai City Miyagino Ward Cultural Center.
The event was held under the theme “Energizing everyone through the power of song.” Amidst performances by 18 general choral groups, Harvesters took the stage to sing two worship songs: “Kansha Shimasu” (I Give Thanks) from the *Kaze no Hibiki* (Echoes of the Wind) Vol. 13 collection, and “God is Love.” This marked their third time participating in the event.
The center’s medium-sized hall was packed with an audience, and the various choral groups performed nostalgic tunes and beautiful melodies. During their allotted time, Harvesters sang with hearts full of gratitude and joy toward the Lord. They received thunderous applause at the conclusion of their set and offered heartfelt praise to the Lord who had guided them.

As the illustrations will appear in black and white within the songbook, please ensure your drawings are clear and high-contrast in black and white. (Color drawings may appear faint or unclear when converted.)
Please note that digital files with gray backgrounds cannot be accepted. (Smartphone photos are not accepted.) There are no specific requirements for the paper used, but please limit each sheet to a single illustration. Please understand that illustrations will not be returned. We prefer digital submissions whenever possible. Please be aware that the number of illustrations selected will be lower this time. The submission deadline is Saturday, September 19.
