On October 10, a testimony of healing was shared at the healing gathering of Tokyo Antioch Church.
The daughter of Evangelist Rikuda was diagnosed at birth with “congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction.” Despite treatments such as eye drops and massage showing no improvement, the family was told that surgery might be necessary.
Rikuda continued to thank God and pray for healing.
Then, while attending the Hakuba Camp when the baby was six months old, the severe eye discharge suddenly disappeared, and she was completely healed.
Her daughter is now 20 years old, and the condition has never recurred.

Healing from Congenital Nasolacrimal Duct Obstruction
On October 10, a testimony of healing was shared at the healing gathering of Tokyo Antioch Church.
Evangelist Rikuda came to believe in Jesus through a friend while she was pregnant.
After a Caesarean section, she was hospitalized for about two weeks.
During that time, her newborn daughter’s eyes were constantly covered in heavy discharge; upon waking in the morning, her eyes would be so crusted over that she could not open them.
Upon discharge, the doctor suggested the condition might be “congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction” and taught her how to perform a massage to treat it.
This is a condition where the tear duct—the passage allowing tears to drain into the nose—is blocked.
She initially thought it would clear up quickly,
but after the one-month checkup, she was referred to a specialist and visited a prefectural hospital.
After being diagnosed with congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction, the child was initially treated with massage and eye drops, but there was no improvement.
As the family began attending church weekly, they were taught that wonderful blessings are revealed when one gives thanks for God’s healing and for all the blessings already received.
So, with a heart full of gratitude, they asked the pastor to pray for healing after worship services and gatherings.
Then one day, a specific Bible verse resonated deeply through an article in the church’s *Mikoe Shimbun* (Voice of God Newspaper).
At that moment, the conviction that healing would come was given to the parent, yet they could not fully accept it.
Having heard that trials often follow the reception of God’s word, they became afraid and eventually let the thought slip from their mind.
During a follow-up examination at the prefectural hospital, the doctor stated, “If there is no change by the next appointment, surgery will be necessary.”
They were also told that even after surgery, the duct could become blocked again as the child grew, leaving them feeling utterly hopeless.
One day, after accidentally spilling one of the two types of prescribed eye drops, the thought crossed their mind, “Perhaps the eye drops are no longer needed”—a thought for which they also offered thanks.
In that process, they repented of their earlier unbelief—specifically, the failure to accept the assurance of healing due to the fear of trials.
When their daughter was six months old, the family participated in the “Hakuba Camp” organized by the church.
To their amazement, on the morning of the second day, the thick discharge that usually coated the eye was completely gone.
The child had been completely healed.
Although the daughter is now twenty years old, she has never experienced a recurrence of the condition since that time.
To this day, Ms. Rikuta continues to experience God’s love and the blessings of the church.
