On Sunday, July 29, the praise bands in Tokyo Antioch Church, GRACE and Jewelry held 40 minutes of J. Gospel concert at a special elderly care facility in Fuchu City in Tokyo.
We held six mini concerts at the Day Service of this facility last year but for half a year we had no concerts. This year when we were planning to visit them for the first time, we said, “We go with piano player, so we can have a wonderful one hour concert this time. We want the users to listen to more Gospel songs” And they gave us a more wonderful environment.
We were led to a corner on the second floor for the first time. There were about forty users waiting in wheel chairs who had not had opportunity to listen to Gospel songs. They said many of them were suffering from dementia.
For the 45 minutes of concert, we sang seven J-Gospel songs, four secular songs. They seemed to have enjoyed the Gospel songs more than secular songs.
They thanked us after every song, and after the concert many of the users smiled at us with wonderful smiles.
They said: “I was excited. I enjoyed the Gospels so much that I didn’t get sleepy rather my thoughts becamed clear, and I woke up. Please come again.” They gave us claps and words of welcome.”
As we left the facility, the director of the facility gave us a warm words.
We thank God, and we thank for the intercession of the church.
