Report from a Christian in Ukraine

This is a report from a Christian in Mariupol, a city surrounded by Russian troops facing the Black Sea.

“Please pray for us. It’s impossible to believe what has been happening here. I am with my family at church by the grace of the Lord. We’re still alive. This town has been completely destroyed. We have no electricity. All of electricity wires have been falling on the ground. We have no gas. Gas pipes were blown away. People come outside standing on a rock and cook food with no water. We have no gasoline. At least, we have a well, saltwater at church and we drink tea containing salt. People in the streets are starving, shops have been destroyed and looted, hail has fallen. Guns, planes and bombs have been falling just a few meters away from the church. God is controlling the distance from these dangers. The window of our house were blown away but we’re still alive. Now we have generators and charge our phones. Temporarily we have Wi-Fi, so I’m writing this in a hurry before it disappears. Please pray for us. We wanted to escape as a family by the humanitarian corridor, but a car broke instantly. God didn’t let us go far away. We think it was because the Lord has some plan for us. Even if this war is over, there will be no place that people can live. In the entrance, everything has been burnt down. The house is full of holes, everything has been broken. Schools have been crushed. We think there’s no need to be scared but we’re scared. Corps are lying on the streets. I guess there’s no time to gather them or the situation doesn’t allow to. WE ARE IN A VERY DIFFICULT SITUATION! PLEASE PRAY!

But by God’s grace, we were able to eat twice at church. Yesterday, for the first time my kids were able to wash their bodies. We get some water from the sea, but there’s no way to heat. Church leaders cook food with generators. They save all of their money. Please pray for us, let God give them wisdom, and unite them. We don’t know how to live from now on. But GOD IS WITH US! WE BELIEVE GOD’S GREAT VICTORY!”
