\nEvangelist Rikuda came to believe in Jesus through a friend while she was pregnant.
\nAfter a Caesarean section, she was hospitalized for about two weeks.
\nDuring that time, her newborn daughter\u2019s eyes were constantly covered in heavy discharge; upon waking in the morning, her eyes would be so crusted over that she could not open them.
\nUpon discharge, the doctor suggested the condition might be “congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction” and taught her how to perform a massage to treat it.
\nThis is a condition where the tear duct\u2014the passage allowing tears to drain into the nose\u2014is blocked.
\nShe initially thought it would clear up quickly,
\nbut after the one-month checkup, she was referred to a specialist and visited a prefectural hospital.
